Tis’ The Busy Season

This month, I’ve had the opportunity to get a lot of stage managing experience at Bayside Folsom on Sunday mornings. It has been a great learning opportunity as I support the worship band and pastors in their ministry to keep everything organized and running smoothly during services. I have been able to bond with my team more as well.
My New Testament class has been going amazing as we get to learn from Tyler Swaney, who is one of the Bayside Granite Bay youth pastors that teaches this class. I have been learning so much and been so encouraged through the teaching I’ve been receiving in these Tuesday and Thursday classes.
On the 8th of November, our 18:22 group (pictured above) had our first party/hangout. The girls gave the guys manicures and pedicures, we all ate food together, played games, and bonded. The boys in the group all wrote the girls encouraging notes.
On the 10th of November, I had the opportunity to lead worship for the Sunday Middle School and 4th-5th grade services. It was amazing, but also challenging to keep their attention!
On the 11th of November, my D-Group (pictured above) had a Czech night to celebrate my roommate, Klara, who’s been feeling homesick as all her family is in Czech Republic. Entering the holiday season is especially challenging as she will not be able to return home to be with her family until the summer. We made Czech food, bought Czech candy, and watched Czech movies. She was very grateful and encouraged.
On the 13th of November, I was able to sing with the worship band and lead worship (pictured above) at our high school midweek ministry at Bayside Folsom. It was a prayer and worship night with student testimonies, and it was super impactful on the students. It was such a blessing to be a part of.
On the 20th of November, we had our Friendsgiving (pictured above) for Bayside Folsom’s student ministries. There was an amazing turnout! My 6th grade girls small group usually has about 7-9 people each week, on Friendsgiving, we had 19 6th grade girls! The numbers are not as important as the fact that these girls are spreading the love of Jesus on their school campuses and inviting others to be a part of the family of God. So encouraging to see Middle School students so on fire for the LORD!
On the 22nd of November, Thrive School had a prayer and worship night together, which was amazing to see the LORD move and see my peers exhorting and worshipping together.
On the 25th of November, our 18:22 group had a Friendsgiving together (pictured above). Everyone brought food and dressed up fancy. The boys decorated, got flowers for, and wrote encouraging notes to the girls, and the girls wrote encouraging notes for the guys. We played games and bonded over good food and company.
This month, God has been teaching me endurance. There have been many times when my comfort has tried to pull me into complacency, but I continue to be challenged to step outside my comfort zone. I know I am called to walk boldly and courageously with joy and peace. I have been learning how to have an attitude of gratitude always instead of focussing on the negative things I don’t like.
