Beginning Year Two

There was some initial concern that Thrive School would not be able to begin meeting together in person due to health and social distancing mandates from the state. However, God is good and Thrive School has been able to meet in person by following social distancing and wearing masks when in close proximity (six feet). Thankfully, the mandates have begun to lift for Placer county, and we only had to follow social distancing protocol for the first two weeks of meeting together.

We were able to have our Thrive School orientation together, and we’ve had many fun bonding activities. We are a class of 50 students this year, 30 first year (new) students, and 20 second year (returning) students. I am so excited to be able to do a second year of Thrive School with the worship track. Thrive School also has a leadership track. If you’d like to explore more about what the leadership verses worship tracks look like, visit this website.

On Monday August 24th, we were able to have our first intensive together. This was the serving intensive. During this intensive, Thrive School was put into teams and sent out to do serving projects locally in the Sacramento community. My team was on a project helping Agape International Missions (AIM), who works to rescue, restore, and prevent sex trafficking in Cambodia. They have a headquarters in the Roseville area, and had some projects we were able to help them out with. This was such a fun experience where my team was able to serve while bonding. We had great conversations and got to know each other.

To come in the next month is picking our internships, so I’m excited to share with you soon what campus of Bayside I’ll be interning at for worship and production.
