A New Beginning

As many of you already know, this month has been a transition season for me as I’ve been moving from a Thrive School lifestyle back into normal life by trying to get a job and figure out what God has next. It’s been exciting, and I’ve been presented with some amazing opportunities that I will share with you. As always, this experience comes with some photo check points.
Before the new updates, I would like to share that I am still very much a part of the YTH team at Midtown serving with music and also have had the opportunity to give some messages as well as leading a small group of 5th and 6th grade students. The message and music elements are for kids and teens from 5th grade to 12th grade. Above, you can see a picture of me and my co-lead, Paige, with our Zoom small group. In the picture, we are all wearing our custom YTH beanies made by Modern Abolition (the non-prof run by Gilbert Acevedo, this business partners with Agape International Missions). You can also see a couple pictures of me playing music for our YTH services, which can be found on YouTube on our page: Midtown YTH.
I also am headwaying and getting our music passion tribe off the ground for Midtown YTH. This is a way to reach students with what they are passionate about. Though we have many passion tribes, one of my gifts and callings is music, therefore it is my goal to serve and equip students in their passion for music whether that’s learning how to play an instrument better, singing, writing music, or whatever other music related passion they have. It is also my goal to give them the platform to use their giftings to share with their peers and fellow humans. Above, you can see a picture of the passion tribe flyer we posted on our social media.
Another update that many of you may or may not have heard of or been aware of is that the Midtown campus will be separating from the Bayside Churches label, so it will be its own individual entity. This was a mutual decision on the part of both parties (Midtown and Bayside) in order for everyone to be able to operate in their giftings and spread the gospel in the most effective way they believe is important for their community. That being said, I will still always love and respect my Bayside family, we are all a part of the same kingdom. Additionally, I will be continuing to serve at Midtown and follow their vision for the city of Sacramento.
Some fun new news is that I now have two new jobs! One of my jobs is as an admin assistant to Gilbert Acevedo at his non-profit Modern Abolition. I am very much aligned with his passion and vision for the company. “Our mission is to help remedy depravities in America and around the world – creating awareness, cultivating change, inspiring creativity, and providing financial support to organizations giving HELP, HOPE, HEALING, and HEALTH to those in need.” The primary way this company makes money is through selling creative pieces, this includes a custom clothing line and custom artwork. If you want a custom t-shirt designed with your specifications, you can also do this through Modern Abolition, but the huge plus is that it goes towards a good cause. As a non-profit, it also takes donations. To find more information or shop our products, click this link.
My second job is as an admin assistant to a small upstarting business called Lagom enterprises. We are still in the process of designing our website, social media, and getting our shop in arden opened at Lagom, but we will be open and functional soon. This business is a wellness concierge service, connecting people to necessary resources, educating them on nutrition and wellness, and connecting and partnering with vendors who want to create their personal brand. More to come on this.
I am also still in the process of working on my album. I have already written three and a half songs, and two and a half are still in progress. I plan to make this a six song album based off of 2020. No matter what your experiences were in 2020, I think we can all agree that it was a crazy year. For me, it brought lots of hardship and difficulties mentally and emotionally. I was faced with a lot of myself more than I ever have been, and I hope to translate that inner turmoil into a creative piece of cohesive music. More to come on this as well.
As always, thanks for reading!
