Living A Grateful Life

You may have seen the opening picture of this update and been confused. Allow me to explain what happened. On July 5th, I was sitting in the passenger’s seat of my cousin’s Honda CRV. On our way back from Temple coffee to her house, we entered an intersection where we had a standing green light. Unfortunately for everyone involved, there was a distracted driver at the wheel of a car who blew through their red light at the intersection, and proceeded to hit us on the right passenger side of the car where I was sitting. By the time we realized the other driver wasn’t stopping at their red light, it was too late, and she hit us creating the mess you see in the above picture. Both cars were totaled, I couldn’t hear out of my right ear directly after the accident, and was in severe shock as all the airbags had deployed, knocking off my glasses, knocking my right earring out of my ear, and banging both me and my cousin up bodily. Luckily, both my cousin and I had a quick recovery. The other driver was fine as well as far as I know. This very scary incident had me in bed for 2 days with soreness, stiffness, shock, and some bruising. All being said, I am grateful to be alive. Looking back at the pictures of the accident made me realize how much worse off I could’ve been after such a powerful collision. But God’s grace saved me that day, and I am around and walking and talking just as normally as before it ever happened.
I am officially hired on as part time staff at Midtown! This is now my second job (MA being my other job), and I am very excited for this opportunity. My official title is the Weekends and Tribes Assistant Coordinator.
The rest of the month was an absolute blast with blessings left and right. I have some pictures of our 1825 group at Midtown above to show how rapidly our group has grown. It’s been amazing to walk alongside, study the Word of God, and get to know the wonderful people in our group. We were able to do a beach trip to Stinson, and those were some great bonding moments.
You can also see from the picture above that I have changed my hair again, as I do often. It was then a vibrant reddish color, although I may have done something different with it since then, but you’ll just have to wait and see it in my next update.
Above pictured you can also see some of the summer camp gear I’ve been making at Modern Abolition (MA) for our YTH Kingdom SZN summer camp, the first ever Midtown Church 7-12th grade summer camp. You can read more about this camp and how it went in my next update about August, as the summer camp was August 6th-9th in Santa Cruz.
I ran my first solo MA popup shop at Midtown as my boss was out of town for the event. I coordinated volunteers, set up, tore down, and ran the shop during all services on Sunday. It was an awesome experience, and it thankfully went super well. We were able to raise so much money for YTH summer camp during this popup shop. I’m so grateful for the team I have at Midtown.
Personally, I have been realizing how much the LORD speaks to me when I’m willing to listen. It is really easy to distract myself with useless activities like scrolling social media, watching compilation videos on Youtube, and even having pointless conversations with people that go nowhere. I am learning how to be productive with my time, treasures, and talents. As some of you may know, I have been working on a couple music albums, and am getting really close to releasing my first single. It is a lot of time, work, and energy to create music, but that’s what musicians do. I really do get so inspired and excited when I start to write a new song, and am excited to share it with all of you soon.
As always, thanks for reading!
