Life Is Good

Hey Friends!
Since I missed the month of April update, I combined this month and last month.
The last couple months have been a busy blur. BUT, hopefully my photos above will help paint the picture of my crazy life. As you can see, there are many new products I’ve been able to be a part of making and selling through my managerial position at the nonprofit Modern Abolition (MA). These products include the new student YTH backpacks, MA tank tops, and Faith X Family X Future t-shirts for Midtown YTH summer kickoff students and leaders as you can see above.
Additionally, I had the privilege of helping design and make some graphics for MA and for Midtown YTH. You can see above the Summer Vibez graphic for the release of our new summer line over at MA (which you can check out and shop online by clicking this link). You can also check out our summer line in person at Fourscore Coffee in Old Roseville. Another graphic you can see above that I created is the Anime Passion Tribe. A little context to this, well it’s pretty simple: I love anime. At Midtown YTH, the tribe leaders have the opportunity and option to create passion tribes, which are essentially just meetings with students over interest groups. I created and started this passion tribe in order to connect with my students, and many of them also happen to love anime, so it is really just another excuse to see them and build relationships and connections. I am excited to share that we had our first meeting as well! You can see a picture of our little gathering of students on couches and blankets to watch anime on a Friday night. We watched the PG film Spirited Away. It was a great night that all the kiddos enjoyed. We had 14 students and 5 leaders there to hangout, and we had pizza, candy, and boba as well. I intend to have these meetups every other Friday night.
Above you can also see a picture of our Zoom tribe meeting with our YTH 46 (4th-6th grade) students. We were alternating every other week over Zoom and in person, but for the summer we will be taking a break from Zoom, and just having in person meetups on Wednesday nights with our students. We had our last Zoom night, and so many of our students enjoyed it. I am also excited that I will get to move up a grade with my 6th grade girls who are transitioning up to 7th grade, and will now be with the middle school and high school students instead of 46 students. Although I will still be helping with and co-leading the 46 tribe (since YTH 7-12 and YTH 46 meet at different times), I am excited to bring my girls up into YTH 7-12 as well.
Easter happened, which was the kickoff for the first in person service Midtown has had since the second COVID shutdown. Since then, Midtown has been having in person services every weekend! It has been so fun to be back in person around the Midtown family again. You can see some fun group pictures from the Easter service above. Midtown Church is now officially its own independent entity separate from Bayside Church. You can check out our new website here!
The 18.25 group (18-25 year olds) at Midtown has also been taking off! It has been so fun, refreshing, and spiritually filling to be around people my age who are prioritizing their relationship with God and others. We meet every Thursday night for fellowship, and also attend the farmers market on Saturday mornings to foster relationships with the vendors and people of the city of Sacramento. You can see a picture of some of our people from the 18.25 group above.
You may have noticed there is a picture of a rottweiler puppy, his name is Kong. We also call him shop dog. He is our new MA puppy, belonging to the Acevedo family, and is such a good boy and a joy to have around.
Last but not least, I included the most recent picture of my hair, where I decided to do half pink and half orange!
As always, thanks for reading!
